Step by step guide


Step 3: Creating/Editing Joomla Catalog Items (Products).

Note: Currently Joomla Catalog supports Import CSV and Export CSV features. You can download the created catalog of items in Microsoft Excel form, then make manual changes in Excel file and import the updated catalog.

3.1 On the top menu select Components Spider Catalog Products.
3.2 In the upper left corner click on the “New” button. 
3.3 Name. Define a name for the product that will appear in the catalog. 
3.4 Category. Choose the product’s category. The products can fall into more than one category.
3.5 Price. Define the actual price of the product. 
3.6 Market Price. Indicate the price of the product on the market. It will appear as crossed out. This parameter can also serve to show the initial price of the product or its price before the discount, etc. 
3.7 Images. You can add any number of images of the product. 
3.8 Fill all the category-specific parameters. 
3.9 Description. You can add a description of the product. After filling the short description, you can click on the “Read more” button below the editor and fill the full description of the product. 
3.10 Order. Choose the order of the given product inside its category.
3.11 Show in Parent. If the product belongs to a subcategory, you can set it to appear as part of the parent category. 
3.12 Published. Choose whether the product appears in the catalog or not. 
3.13 Edit ratings. All ratings of the product can be edited or removed in this section. You can find this option on the top left corner.
3.14 Edit reviews. All reviews of the product can be removed in this section. You can find this option on the top left corner.
