Hi,

I want to add new URL link to the main menu, but I want this link to open in a new window/tab. Is it possible and if yes, please let me know how?

Thanks,
Antoan

Dear Support,

I am using the Exclusive Theme for WP (WP version 4.1.1) and I want to add a new entry in the main menu. This entry should be an URL and not a post or page from the site.

I can do this in Administration via Dashboard -> Appearance -> Menus -> Links, and then type the URL and Link text. Clicking button Add to Menu will add this URL link to the menu structure. Now this works ok but I would like the menu option to be opened in a new browser tab/window instead of the current one. Opening menu links in the current window is fine for Posts/Pages but for URLs usually the preferred choice is a new browser tab.

Hope this explains the issue. In summary - please let me know if URL based menu item can be opened in a new browser tab?

Thanks,
Antoan

Dear Antoan,

We are sorry for late reply. Please check out this link: www.w3schools.com/tags/tryit.asp?filename=tryhtml_link_target . If you set the target attribute to "_blank", the link will open in a new browser window or a new tab. If you don't manage to do it yourself , please give us a link to your website and we will try to help you.

Thank you.
Best regards
