Adding Custom CSS Styles

There are two ways to use custom CSS style for your website: change the theme CSS file, or add a custom CSS and use it with selected pages.

Changing Theme CSS

To add a custom CSS to an installed WordPress theme, in the WordPress admin panel.

  • In the Admin panel, go to Appearance > Editor.

  • Select the theme to edit in the right part of the screen.

  • After you select the theme, its CSS file will become available for editing.

    NOTE: Consider using the CUSTOM CSS feature, as by configuring the site CSS file directly you might break the site styles. Refer to Adding Custom CSS for details.

  • You can either edit the current CSS style, or update its contents by pasting new CSS in the editor.

  • Once done, click Update File to apply changes.

Adding Custom CSS

To add custom CSS code:

  • Go to Appearance > Theme Options > General.
  • Check the uppermost CUSTOM CSS checkbox.
  • Add your CSS code to the text box below.

  • Click the Save Settings button.
