Import using CSV not working. Urgent!

Eugene Grant-Sinclair created the topic: Import using CSV not working. Urgent!

I have downloaded the template csv, adjusted the import document and when I hit the "upload" after selecting the file, I get a page saying the upload was successful but products are still missing. Please advise as this is "mission critical"!

FYI, I can not wait for this so I am starting on my smaller lists and hope this will be resolved before my big list hits tomorrow.

Hi Eugene! Thank you for posting about this problem!

Most probably the imported database entries aren't being saved properly. Could you please contact our team by e-mail ([email protected]) and give temporary WordPress admin access? Our development team will take a look at the issue and figure out a solution as soon as possible.

Hello Eugene!

Our development team found the cause of this issue, that you are facing with Spider Catalog. It turns out, that the problem is occurring because of the single/double quotation marks, which are used in product names.

Unfortunately the import functionality will not work with them, could you please remove these signs? Import will go through properly afterwards. Hope you don't mind not having the marks.

I remove all of those and still can not import. This is a very big issue for me. I like my job and recommended this plugin and if I have to start over, we lose more than 30 hours. I may not have this job much longer. I'm stressed and worried about this issue. Please help!

Well I got it to take the import but all the data was messed up. It took the name but EVERYTHING ELSE in the wrong place. I tried to populate the downloaded file with the date, same thing. This is becoming one of my biggest nightmares. PPPPPLEEEEAASSE. This and the search HAVE TO WORK. There is just too much time in this as it is!

Hi there,

I am very, very upset with that product.

I just bought the "pro" version this morning and I have spent all day trying to import products in the catalog … But no way :angry: :angry:
I always get "File upload error" and nothing happens !
More of that, I created a product manually, then I exported it from WP catalog in csv, then I tried to re-import the exported file created by wp catalog and … "File upload error" !!! :angry: :angry:
So either the csv export function is crappy or the import function itself is buggy.
It cannot even reimport the file it created !
Can you believe that ???
