After upgrading Joomla from 3.4.8 to 3.5.1 I am unable to add images. I get the image catalog but when choosing an image and cklick on insert, nothing is happening.
My spider catalog is old 1.7.1 so I installed the site locally and upgraded to 1.8.10. Then I get :

You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MariaDB server version for the right syntax to use near ') AND published=1 order by ordering' at line 1 SQL=SELECT * FROM #__spidercatalog_product_categories WHERE id IN () AND published=1 order by ordering

There are no known problems as you are facing, so it's perhaps also conflicting with another extension. Could you please submit a support ticket for this issue? You can do that by sending temporary Super User access to your website.

Please note, that the problem on Ivar's website has been occurring because a Javascript file was missing, and also there was a conflict with element classes. So it was specific to that website.

for sure I have added permissions 777 on /media/com_spidercatalog/upload/
also I have tried another browser, but still cannot upload picture, even I see nothing in apache error log

I am having the same issue that in product view, (and even in the back end view) I cannot seem to see my product images. I'm afraid I am behind a network firewall and will be unable to give you admin priviledges .. is there another way you can help me to troubleshoot this issue? I am tinkering around with this extension and think you all have done a GREAT job! I love the flexibility. I just really need to see the thumbnail view.

As for the problem, could you please check if PHP GD 2 library is enabled on your website? It is required for processing functions with images, and these kind of problems can occur, when GD 2 is disables.

You can check this by running phpinfo(); function on your site.

I have an issue also not being able to add images. It happend recently, probably after a joomla update (version 3.6.5).
The segment for adding images doesn't show as a pop-up but in full window and the "Insert" and "Cancel" buttons don't work.
