Event text font in pop-up

Malcolm Bailey created the topic: Event text font in pop-up

In the settings for the pop-up, it is possible to change the font family for the event date, time and title, but not for the event text - see www.artisan16.co.uk/events/event-calendar/

Where can I change the font family for the text?

Dear Malcolm,

If you go to Calendar Themes, open the theme you're using on your Spider Calendar and find the options Event title font family in popup and Date font family in popup.

These will assign selected font families to your event popup title and date.
Thank you!

As I said originally, it is possible to change the font family for the event date, time and title using Event title font family in popup and Date font family in popup but there is nowhere to change the font family for the event text.

Where can I change the font family for the pop-up body text?

Dear Malcolm,

Sorry for misunderstanding your question. Here's what you need to do to change description styles. Please open /spider-event-calendar/functions_for_xml_and_ajax.php file and search for the following code:

style="line-height:20px"

Please add your styles next to it, and don't forget to separate the CSS with a semicolon. Here's an example of the code:
style="line-height:20px; font-family: Arial; font-size: 15px;"

Thank you!

Hi Agapi

That's worked, thank you, I've left a 5 star review

Is this fix going to be included in the next update or will it be necessary to add the CSS each time I use Spider Calendar and after every plugin update?

Dear Malcolm,

Thank you so much for your kind review! We are flattered!

As for your question, I have added a task for our developers to create an option of changing font styles in event popup. However, unfortunately, until then you need to add this code in case you update Spider Calendar.

Thank you!

Hi

I've changed the pop-up text font as described in the thread here, which worked fine.

But I've just updated spider event calendar plugin, which over-wrote my custom edits, so I had to undertake the edit again!

Is there a way of me creating a 'child theme' with the file(s) I've edited so future updates don't over-write my custom edits?

Or, better still, could the ability to edit the pop-up text font be added to the theme options so that the new font is remembered when the plugin is updated?

Thanks!

Dear Rob,

There is already a task for our developers to add an option to Spider Calendar themes, which will allow to change event description text formatting.

As for now, you can change the plugin version and thus create a "child plugin". Please open /spider-event-calendar/calendar.php file and change the version from the very top to a larger number. For example, you can change it to 1.99.4.17.

This will prevent it from updating.
Thank you!

Hello Anna!

Unfortunately we don't have an estimation for the release date of the version with this option. However, the suggestion is in our development task list, so our developers will hopefully add it soon.

Thank you!

Hi again, Anna!

Also let me inform you, that you can write HTML with inline styles in the event description popup editor, in Text mode. This also will let you change the font styles, however the following solution mentioned here:

goo.gl/XMzmDl

is probably the most optimal.
Thank you!

Thanks for the link, Anna!

Kindly note, that Open Sans theme is not included in your website theme, but here's Helvetica is, so you can add the following code instead:

style="line-height:20px; font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Helvetica,Arial,sans-serif;"

again in /spider-event-calendar/functions_for_xml_and_ajax.php file. Search for the following code to locate the necessary part:
style="line-height:20px"

Thank you!
