I have now managed to understand how the gallery and albums work and got it looking close to what I was hoping ( I need to redo the thumbnails but am overall happy with the layout). The only thing... there are no header titles and I can't understand why they are not showing - or where the setting is to make them available.

Dear James,

If you need to add titles to your albums, please go to Photo Gallery Options > Album Options and set up the Show title option as needed. You can do this also when adding the album shortcode to a page/post.

I already had that setting switched on. It is set to "always show" yet they don't show...

Fo a conclusion on the subject - here is my last message from support. Thought I should share this to help avoid others losing a couple of days dev time trying to get what SHOULD be a basic option for this otherwise decent plugin. Now, to find a plugin that does!
