List formating, Theme requirements?

Barry Mossman created the topic: List formating, Theme requirements?

Hi,

I cannot get a list to format correctly in a FAQ question.

it displays as expected in the "visual" tab in your Questions editor

but when I view the page that you build, it is without list formatting, ie. no bullet, no indentation (picture below)

I see from your other answers that this is a theme issue.

I am using the Twenty Twelve theme from Wordpress. Acording to their theme page this is their 3rd most popular theme.

Why doesn't your product work with such a popular theme?

I tried lots of other regular themes, and you don't produce expected list results for any of them.

I found one that sort of worked. Tempera from CryOut Creations. It does have the expected list bullets, and indentations, but it also has ugly bullets in from of the title for each Question title & the ExpandAll|CollapseAll row, and anyway it doesn't have the appearance that I want for my site.

My question is what is the workaround for the regular themes from Wordpress? It is disappointing that it doesn't work as expected, but you could at least provide some document desribing a workaround.

I don't know CSS well, but what should I look for, and change change in the theme?

I have tried a number of changes, but didn't find a fix.

Have you got a document describing what your product epects in a Theme if lists are to format correctly?

Have you a list of themes which do work with your product? What should I look for?

I haven't published my site, so I can't give you credentials for entry, but I you can easily replicate the problem.
* use theme Twenty Twelve
* create a question, and put the following fragment in the Question's Answer:

One

Two

Three

I have attached an image showing the problem.

Thanks

Free, at the moment.

Converting to Pro before I publish.

Can do earlier if you assure me that this will make the problem go away.

The tool is not good for me if it can't format lists correctly.

Thanks. I am on holiday for a week.
I did try to open your zip file, but it is corrupt.
What is in it?
What would I do with it?

Wouldn't also help others with the same issue of you also answered here?

Dear Barry,

We have checked it and it has been installed successfully. Can you please tell us which browser you use ? If you were using firefox, please try another browser. We have already updated the product and now that issue is fixed.
