I'm using form maker on wordpress on localhost using xampp as apache and mysql. When I click activate to implement the plugin, wordpress returns:

Plugin could not be activated because it triggered a fatal error.

Fatal error: Call-time pass-by-reference has been removed in C:\xampp\htdocs\wordpress\wp-content\plugins\form-maker\Form_Maker.php on line 97


Is there a way to fix this? I'm not very good at php.
