How do I create a field in a form that is not submitted to the database when submit is clicked?

If you wish to have specific fields, which won't be saved on the database, but not all the form, you can write additional code using Custom HTML field type. However, this is not recommended, we would suggest you to entirely switch it off with Save data(to database) option.

You can find this setting in Form Options > General Options of your form.

It is not recommended, since the field practically becomes "artificial" this way. Meaning, its data is not saved anywhere, and won't be included in the emails that are sent to administrator or submitter.
