Besides famously known father of WordPress Matt Mullenweg and its co-founder Mike Little, who successfully stay on surface as entrepreneurs and web developers in WP community, we want to know other members of WordPress family too. The community is massive and spreads all over the world. I wanted to share some personas I had the experience to communicate online as well as the ones who are super active in terms of contribution to WordPress. We can grab and learn a lot of things from the list of people I have mentioned below. They are not only developers, writers, entrepreneurs, designers, but also nice peeps who value the chance to share and spread the word of success. They give awesome tips and help newcomers over their social network platforms. So let’s get started and jump to the list of top-notch WordPress experts right away.

Syed Balkhi

Syed Balkhi was recognized and included in the top 100 entrepreneur’s list under the age of 30 by United Nations. He is a designer, developer, SEO and social media consultant. He has got an awesome collection of 14 plugins in his list that had been successfully developed and brought to WordPress. The cherry on the top of the cake is one of the most recognized WordPress communities online, which is WPBeginner. Back in 2009, Balkhi created WPBeginner which is one of the largest free WordPress resource sites on the web. You obviously know Syed as The Huffington Post and Entrepreneur Magazine writer. His articles were published in FoxBusiness, Washington Post as well as Forbes. And besides that Syed is an active speaker and participant of WordCamps and many members will confirm how friendly and communicative this guy is.

Jeff Chandler

Jeff Chandler (don’t confuse with legendary American actor) is the guy who founded WP Tavern back in 2009. Chandler often breaks the latest news from the industry with his strong and valuable opinion. He shares a lot of insights from Automattic as well. The Taver has a nice team of writers too. These guys bring a lot of interesting content connected with WordPress on a daily basis. Chandler has been writing about WordPress since 2007 and probably knows everything about WP from day one. He is also the host of the WordPress Weekly Podcast, which appears to be quite unique concept in the community.

Jean Galea

Besides Jeff Chandler, you may want to follow Jean Galea – the person behind the popular WP Mayor site. The site features latest news and reviews for WordPress. The coolest thing about WP Mayor is that it also aggregates the latest WordPress jobs. In this way Jean brings quite unique resource for anyone looking for some extra work within the industry.

Chris Lema

Chris Lema has been successfully working as an virtual team mentor and strategist as well as WordPress business advisor. He has been cooperating with big teams and companies like WooThemes, iThemes, Headway Themes and many others. He is a coach for companies developing products for WordPress too. He is also among favorite speakers on WordCamps and an author of 5 e-books about management, team coaching, plugin reviews and more. The books will cost you $7.50 for each. They all are available on Lema’s website. Besides that, Lema is among the most popular Clarity Expert community members. Clarity Expert is a popular website for startup advice sources coming from industry experts. On his profile Chris regularly schedules calls to answer. The call will be charged $6.67/min. Sounds pretty expensive, but among his 100+ positive reviews clients do confirm that this guy cares about his customers and comes as a selfless leader in order to help.

Mark Jaquith

Mark Jaquit is the lead developer on the WordPress project. He is a provider of WordPress development and consulting services too. With his posts you obviously will get a lot of insights from WordPress development as well as other topics from IT world. Mark is very popular on Twitter with a 21.5K followers list, regularly updates his news feeds as well as supports newcomers with a great tips and suggestions.

Tyler Moore

“Step-by-step with no step skipped” – that’s the quote you find in Tyler Moore’s channel on YouTube. This guy is ranked number one in YouTube “WordPress” search. After launching his own YouTube channel in May 31, 2011 Tyler built a nice strategy to lead the idea of really simple, yet productive WordPress tutorial videos for beginner. Currently the channel has 167,820 subscribers with overall view count of 16,2 million views. Only 2 of his the most popular videos titled “How To Make a WordPress Website” received around 4.7 million views. Tyler is still leading relatively small YouTube army of WordPress bloggers. Another nice channel that I came across with is called “how to build a website 11” hosted by James Stafford. But in a contrast with Tyler’s weekly video tutorials, James would post just one video in a month or two.

Rebecca Collins, Andrea Middleton and Jen Mylo

Any plans to visit WordCamps? Then you’d probably like to follow Rebecca Collins, Andrea Middleton and Jen Mylo on Twitter. They are the Community Organizers on the WordPress. Rebecca is working with Automattic as global events manager. These ladies manage WordCamp central; they are also a dot organizers at Automattic. Jen works on open source projects as well. Besides the fun posts on social media, you will surely get all the latest updates and news about any official announcements coming from Automattic and WordCamp. Andrew Nacin

Popular Developer Andrew Nacin started as lead developer for the WordPress open source project in 2010, Nacin then grew his professional skills and was called to join the White House’s U.S. Digital Service. He takes care of Federal IT projects and still stays faithful to his roots by sharing and posting his opinion about things going on in WordPress. He is vocal about issues within the community and tries to make his best to keep the community and WordPress on the top of CMS. I would recommend checking some connections of Andrew over LinkedIn. Pretty nice list of 100+ leading entrepreneurs, developers and marketing consultants can be found over there. Plus you are welcomed to watch Andrew’s speeches over wordpress.tv

Joe

I cannot miss the awesome editors and content contributors of WordPress. These are the guys I had the privilege to speak with and have to confirm not only their professional online communicative skills, but kindness and cooperative spirit. First of all I will start from Joe, more commonly known as Joe Can Write from joecanwrite.com. Joe is a freelance copywriter and blogger who specializes in writing about technology, web design and online marketing. We know Joe from his informative articles regularly published on Elegant Themes and wpmudev. Joe writes about WordPress and blogging, posts plugin and theme reviews, is a geek on helping readers to create and give some tips about setting up e-commerce and online shops. He has a nice portfolio of e-commerce guides too.

Sarah Gooding

Speaking about Tavern and other online writers and editors, I have to mention professional journalist Sarah Gooding, who is writing for various websites and is a regular writer for wptavern.com. Sarah likes to share a lot of exclusive and interesting posts from the IT world, writes a lot of WordPress theme reviews, gives tips about blogging, discusses social networking security issues and more. You will get a lot of media from WordPress events on her Twitter account, which is a nice benefit to know industry insiders better.

That was my list of the highest-profile contributors to the open-source community. Hopefully there are some new names and faces that interested you personally. This is a great chance to learn from WordPress geeks right away. Also, don’t forget to give me a clue in the comments section below about the ones who were not included in my list.

I have been surfing online more than 2 hours today, yet I never found
any interesting article like yours. It is pretty worth enough for me.
In my view, if all site owners and bloggers made good content as you did, the net will be a lot more useful than ever
    before.
